Behavior of JCP

janome Nov 29, 2003 09:08 PM

I'm a new owner of a nice JCP. I purchased her at a local store. I've had her for about 2-3 weeks. She eats 2 adult mice weekly. I was wondering what is the 'norm' for JCP behavior. I have mine housed in a 20 gallon long tank with an UTH. I have a incandecent light for during the day and a red light for the night to help keep her warm. Occasionally mist her down. Sometimes she seem restless and moves about alot.Is this normal for JCP? I have a hide spot over the UTH with that green carpet so she won't get burned by setting right on the glass and use paper for a substrate, temporarially. Also a tree thing for her to climb on and a fake plant for looks. I treated her for mites last week. Sometimes when I pick her up, she's real tame, she feels real warm, almost hot. Could the UTH be too much? Sometimes she lays all stretched out, too. Is this size of tank to small for her? She's a yearling,I guess about 3 feet long. This size of tank is temporary as I want to house her in a bigger tank. What size would be best for when she's full grown? She's very docile and doesn't mind being handled.
