my snake will not smell a mouse

football9755 Jun 01, 2003 08:39 PM

My snake for about 2 months now has only been eating anoles. I have been trying to feed him mice but he just not interested. I bought this "Lizard Maker" thing and it is suppose to make the mouse sent smell like a lizard. He still was not interested. After i tried that I put an anole in there and he squeezed him to death and ate it. Can I get some ideas or help with this problem? I would like it alot.

Thanks

Chuck

Get another anole, freeze it, and cut off a piece and put it on the mouse's head (I stick a piece of lizard tail in the mouse's mouth - dead mouse, of course)...I got a hatchling to eat this way when she would not even sniff a live pinkie. It may help to try to wash off as much 'mousey' smell from the mouse beforehand...good luck!
