I got my first burm

kyburm Nov 30, 2003 03:04 PM

I got a new burm it is really gentle now. It was really nervous but has calmed down. It was hissing with its mouth open and shaking its tail. It even struck but didn't have its mouth open. After handling it everyday except after feeding it is Ok. I seem to have trained it though. When approach the cage it comes to the top so all I have to do is open the cage and he/she will crawl down my arm. It is only a baby. Will get pics up soon.

are you sure she not coming to the top of the cage becasue she thinks you have food. my guess is that what she looking for not to come and play with you. you might consider feeding her from a differnt opening than the one you take her out of. when she gets bigger that can be a bite just waiting to happen.

It seems to just like to be out around people really. Could just be the body heat thing. I feed in a different cage. I also want to know if anyone has been bitten by a large burm and what happened.
