Help! Auratus down for the count!

MJCAdawg Nov 30, 2003 05:24 PM

Aight, i really don't know what's up, but i have a very skinny male auratus who isn't moving much, and isn't eating. I put him in solitary confinement earlier today-- he's moved around some, but barely any, and has alot of fruit flies with him. He might have chowed on a couple, but nothing extensive. What should i do? Should i just accept the inevitable and watch him die, or can i attempt something. Any help would deeply be appreciated!!!

Since no one has replied to you, you could try pedialite, and see if it perks up. I am not sure on the mixture of pedialite to water though. How long have you had this frog? I have also heard of people using termites to fatten up frogs.

Good luck, and I hope your forg gets better.

thanks for the help-- i'm guessing that you can find this pedialyte at kroger? also, i've had him since early august, and he has been associated in well over 30 eggs. He has been find since now, and i'd really be in a fix if i lost him.

hi
i have used room temp. unflavored pedialyte straight from the bottle. but if you wish you can use 50/50. i would keep my frog in there for at least an hour. sometimes more, but it didn't hurt the frog. i also have used this stuff called exo terra electrolyte supplement. don't have too many bugs in there that will also stress the frog. usually it wil take a while for it to get back to normal.
hope this info helped.
