An issue of reptiles magazine has a listing of all the types of tegus.....The only ones from paraguay i saw were reds. When i looked at a site selling them i saw that they were selling blak and white Paraguaian....Is this possible? If so what is the size difference between the Paraguian and the Argentineian?

Hi there-welcome to the tangled web that is tegu nomenclature. It may help you to know that tupinambis merianae (argentine black and white tegu) also lives in Paraguay. So theoretically a "Paraguayan" tegu could be a black and white or a red tegu. Either of those from Paraguay would be the same size as we are seeing in the pet trade here.
