its of a nature thats not allowed here. then e-mail. thanks F
well I was reading your article in reptiles magazine a few days ago on varanus breeding.I saw that you at one time bred storrs monitors.do you still breed them.If so how much are they.I have a savanna right now and was wondering if I was ready to have a storrs monitor or if I needed more experience.I have been keeping lizards since I was 6(now 14)but only have had my savanna for 3-4 years. If you think Im ready for a storrs monitor what do you use to house these.I would prefer to use a aquarium unless you think a reptarium could be used.I need all the info I can get from you.I have wanted one of these lizards since I was 10 and saw one at the OK city zoo.I have started saving my money already and next year I will start breeding my geckos and this will go towards the monitor too.thanks for you time.

Hi Nick,
I'm sure Frank is busy, so I'll answer your questions to the best of my abilities.
I do not know if he still breeds Storri or not, his website no longer has them listed.
I personally think if you read a little more on the difference in PROPER care of a sav. and PROPER care of a storri you will find they are fairly similar in everything except diet. Which the storri consume more insects.
I would personally say plan to dedicate somewhere around a 4' x 2'x 2'-3' tall cage for your storri. Put at least 10-12" of dirt for substrate an "ackie stack" made of wood, so he can bask next to the heat lamp. etc... I shouldn't have to explain too much. Read READ READ, on the net get everyone's opinions try what's proven to work and make adjustments as you see fit. I think a Storri or Ackie would be a great choice. Best of luck with those geckos kid.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.I just have one more though.I live in Oklahoma and at the OK city zoo they have a storrs monitor in a what looks to be 30 gallon aqaurium. He has been their forever too.Are they keeping theirs wrong?I currently dont have the space for a enclosure that big in my room.could I keep one in this small of an aqaurium?
nick
I keep storri and I would recommend a 4 x 2 cage.
Good Luck
