Help identifying this parasite

My three adults were confirmed to have pinworms. Only two of them live in the same enclosure; the third lives in their old tank. But these are the worms I've found in their stools (with blood) after I started medicating them.

Hookworms, maybe? What are the chances that these adults would have pinworms AND hookworms without showing any symptoms prior to the medication?

That these two measure about 6mm long and 1.5mm wide, but I did see one measure just under 1cm long. When they come out fresh in the poop, they're somewhat transparent.

I'm already medicating them according to the instructions my vet gave me based on the fecal tests I had done for all three of my adults. I was supposed to be treating them for pinworms, but these don't seem to be pinworms. It's still got to be some type of nematode, since the medicine is working.

Look like urates, gecko pee. Unless they are really really small, it appears that they are urates. Does it move??

No, they're not urates. The poop came out normal (all three parts), and these look like skinny rice noodles. I picked both of these worms out of the brown poop part and then put them into an alcohol solution so I could take the pictures. They're actually both from the same leo who had at least two or three more worms in her poop.

I think they're dead. The fact that they're in the poop to begin with means the medicine is working.

Hi

You might want to check out this site, I saw a picture of dark fecal matter with white worms in it a little ways down the page. If nothing else I think you will find it interesting.

Without a more close-up picture I can't tell you what they are but they look like a nemotode (round worm). I can tell you that hook worms have little hooks on the anterior end, hence the name Hook worm. I don't know what meds your vet gave you but it might be wise to give him a quick call and see if he wants to take a peak at the little worms. Depending on what they are, he might want to add or make a change in the meds.

I took the worms for the vet to examine, and it turns out that they are hookworms.

So when are you going to vetrinarian school? And moving to the east San Francisco bay area so I can give YOU my gecko health money? Bring that silly looking dog with you! Ok, ok, I bet the dog is beautiful in person. But I love that picture!
