I recommend buying from a breeder that's raised their babies cricket free. I did this...bought from Lisa on this forum. Her website is beginnersbasics.com She's out of pocket right now with an ill family member, but I think there's others on here that raise them crix free.
I wound up getting silkworms for my BD though after a while. Good luck!
i looked at her site and saw that she didn't have much, i had one member here email that they have some being raised crix free so we'll see how it pans out. anyone have good luck/advie on switching from live food if need be.
I'm the one that emailed him about the crix free babies, incase anybody else is interested
.
As for switching from crix to pellets, I've never done it with younger dragons, but it wasn't too bad with my adults. They were eating pretty good on their salads already anyway, so I just started putting soaked pellets mixed in with their salad and cut down on the crix. I use repcal pellets. At first I tried their adult pellets, but they wouldn't eat those, so I've switched to mixing in the soaked juvie pellets with their salad and they love em.
Best of luck with whatever you decide to do!
thanks, and by the way you have some beautiful babies there.
ok i am torn between a 6-7 month old who has been feed greens/crix or babies that are being raised cricket free. My wife has forbid crickets so, what are my odds with the 6-7 month old going cricket free>
I'd go with the babies...but that's just me. Some dragons won't ever take to eating pellets as people on here will tell you, so in your case where crickets aren't an option I'd go with the crix free babies... or get the 6-7 month old and use silkworms...or get the crix free babies and use silkworms with them as well.
