Another picture of a burgundy I am working with.....

Joe Compel Nov 30, 2003 07:30 PM

This close up captures some of the differences between a normal and this burgundy. This burgundy only has one black scale - all his other dark areas are a deep burgundy color. It is very difficult to capture the true colors of this snake!
I bred this male to a normal about four years ago and am breeding one or two of his "het" duaghters back to him this season. I hope to see some baby burgs in the future!

Your burgundy looks very similar to mine. It will
be interesting to see in the future which are genetic and
which are compatible. It seems reasonable that these are
genetic, but only time will tell for sure. Good luck to
you!

Here is a pic of my female. She gave me 9 perfect eggs last
season (bred to a het Jolliff axanthic). I will be breeding
one of her sons back to her this season (they are growing like
weeds) to hopefully prove her genetics.
Next season, I'll breed several of the [hopefully
genetic] het burgundy/poss het axanthic males to several of
their sisters to see if I can hatch out anything *really*
interesting.

Good luck to all this season...

She is posing with a normal colored male just for contrast.
Let me know what you think!

Hopefully the genetics proves out and these babies are
poss double hets...

here's a pic of my big guy. what do you guys think?

It is always so hard to capture the colors of ball pythons
on film! Your snake looks very nice. I like the blushing
colors on him. Can you post a pic of him with a normal so
we can see the contrast better? Thanks for the pic!

it's not the greatest but here's him with my biggest girl.

I think they may be nice as they would not have a whole lot of white being hypo, and I wonder if they would have enough red to give them a different color...? I think Burgandy's may have potential in the years to come. Thanks for the pictures everyone, much enjoyed them!

Bristen.
