T-Rex Sandfire Super Food Leopard Gecko Dust

RickMck Nov 30, 2003 09:58 PM

I really enjoy this forum, I was reading it long before I got my two Leo's. Has anyone used the T-Rex Sandfire Super Food Leopard Gecko Dust ICB (Insect Cricket Balancer)? I have some, and each time I feed it they seem to stop and lick it off their lips, either they like it or hate it.........but they eat like pigs so it isn't stopping them.

I have a trio of juvi's I'm raising up on the stuff. I shake and bake mealies with the T-Rex food. I haven't really paid that much attention to the "taste" - as they are housed in shoeboxes - but each time i feed them, their food dish is completely empty. They must be eating it.

I'll have to see how it goes with growth, etc. I have one box of mealies that I'm not using much gutload on - just enough substrate/food for them to munch on. The only added nutrition is the T-Rex balancer. So I'll be interested in seeing the growth rates.

I use the leo ICB, my geckos seem to do very well with it. I have seen my guys/gals licking their lips free of plain calcium, so I doubt that it is uncommon.
I have noticed that crix really enjoy eating ICB. I put 1/2 calcium powder and 1/2 ICB in a small dish for the geckos, and I’ve seen crix walk up to the dish and eat just from the ICB side. I’m not sure if it’s just the only edible thing they can find or what, but I’m sure it doesn’t hurt anything.
I like to add a bit more calcium powder to the mix whenever dusting crix and mealworms, especially when it’s for hatchlings or breeding females. Best of luck with your guys!
