Tremper albinos, color phase ?

aliceinwl Dec 01, 2003 01:28 AM

Here are 3 (now 2) of my Trempers, Bacchus, Daphne, and their son who I just gave to my brother's roommate. I was wondering how you would classify Daphne's color, she's the one in the middle. Does she pass the threshold for tangerine? BTW I know Daphne looks a bit thin, but she's my supermodel. I've had her for almost 3 years now and she eats as much as my fat geckos but this is the weight she maintains.

I'd say they were Chocolate albinos correct me if i am wrong but normal albinos are lighter and also have lighter yellow'ish spots as the chocolate albinos have brown spots. awesome leos BTW

There's no difference between a chocolate albino and a normal albino except for the temperature the eggs were incubated at.

That is a picture of three very nice leos. From the picture, the adults look high-yellow. Daphne looks very hyper xanthic, and if the colors are true she could be called golden...but not tangerine.

My first home-bred albino (Minsky) looks similar to yours as she was incubated at 80f, although her yellow is not as bright. Over time she's darkened more .. I suppose from hanging out for extended periods on the cooler side of her enclosure.

Thanks for the responses. I didn't think she met the threshold, but some people were calling the baby pictured here with Bacchus tangerine when I posted it a few months ago and she's no more orange than Daphne so I wanted to make sure.
