Hybino Brooksi????

Nokturnel Tom Dec 01, 2003 12:20 PM

I traded a snake for a het Hybino Brooksi this summer. It is a nice snake as is but of course I would like to find another het and see if I can indeed produce a Hybino. Has anyone actually produced any yet? Or are there only double hets floating around out there? If anyone has a picture please post one. Thanks Tom

I tried to produce brooks that were double het for hybino back in 1999, but got a clutch of dead in egg hatchlings , most with some sort of defect. I haven't heard much about others trying the same.

There are hets floating around out there, but it's going to be hard to tell what is hybino from lavender albino. Just ask Terry Dunham about that. He has been working on the hybino honduran project for a few years, and still hasn't actually produced a verifiable hybino. The albino just masks the hypo gene a little too much in this instance. Unless we see a good number of hybino breedings, it may take a long time to prove out which is which. I would contact Terry and get his opinion on it.
