OK...since no one has yet to directly ask you what they are, I will. Are they concolor or abyssus?
Abyssus get much bigger.
but not necessarily. Not all abyssus get "much" bigger. There are currently at least 3 distinct clades within the abyssus ssp. as per Douglas et.al. and some of those animals don't get very big. I have seen a handful of examples of snakes that are not much bigger then the snakes you posted and are very similar in pattern to the second adult. Either way you answered my question indirectly. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
the A1's (canyon clade)abyssus can get bigger, but the other two clades average much the same as concolor. I have abyssus den-sites where all the snakes are under 20 inches and look exactly like the second female and the babies you have posted.
an old adult female about 18' inches long.

SGR,
Any reason why you took the time to post these snakes but yet you refuse to make any comment on them? If the reason has to do with the fact that they are a protected species in "almost" every state that they occur, then why post them at all?
You guys produce some really cool stuff. Do you have a website with what all you're working with? Thanks.
Greg Henry
