what kind of lizard should i get?

lazandlouie Dec 01, 2003 04:08 PM

I have an empty 90 gallon lizard lounge. I was wondering if there was any lizards that dont need to climb very high spaces that could fit in the large lizard lounge tank. I am interested in buying more lizards and would like to know what type may fit in the tank? Thanks Everyone.

Thanks for the quick response. A lizard lounge is a huge aquarium suited for lizards. It has vent holes on the sides, the back, and on the top, along with some screen on the top. Its dimensions are 4ft long, 2 ft high, and 18 inches wide. So basically its a fancy aquarium for lizards thats not to tall but more long (it doesnt stand high but sits down long) sorry if im confusing you, im kind of confusing myself. But that should do it if not, i can try again. Thank You!!

Humidity would be a problem in that thing. But... you could fit a blue tounged skink, some prehensile tailed skinks, or a group of ackie monitors in there. That's a start. Almost anything that stays under three feet and doesn't like to climb too much would probably fit.

I agree that it will be hard to hold moisture in that thing.here are a few animals that might be suitable
possibly a desert iguana
a small group of collared lizards
blue tongue skink
a pair of giant plated lizards
a pair or trio of ackies

I hope this helps and always remember that before buying your animal do as much research as possible.

you could easily put a uromastyx,5 leopard gecko's,5 armadillo lizards, water dragon, bearded dragon, skinks of all kinds, just about anything really except iguana's due to the height.

1.3 Leopard Gecko's
1.0 mali uromastyx
0.0.3 tokay's(adults unsexed)

Yeah i know, i always do research on lizards and was just wondering which to research on. ha. as for most lizards being able to be put in their, what about adult frilled dragons, i know iguanas need height do the frills? Once again thanks everyone, its highly appreciated. And does anyone know anything about texas alligator lizards? thanks

Frills are if anything MORE arboreal than beardies. They also get, if memory serves, 3-4 feet long, which is too big for that cage even if it was tall.
