What kind of turtle or tortoise?

Vernooyboy Dec 01, 2003 07:20 PM

A box of these turtles were brought in to a local vet and one was given to my girlfriend. I was wondering if anyone know i what it is.

Yeah...file is inaccessible. It is either on a non-public site or the URL is wrong...try http://www.tinyurl.com to make the URL postable...

or maybe a gulf coast

Terrapene caroliona triunguis
or Terrapene carolina major

bloomindaedalus Dec 05, 2003 11:18 PM

yeah second look.... flared rear marginals.

Anybody else?

foxturtle Dec 06, 2003 12:23 AM

It may have flared rear-marginals, but so do many eastern, Florida, 3-toed, and gulf-coast I have seen, and even a few ornata. Overall look seems to be 3 toed.
