bubbles on waxy's back

auratus66 Dec 01, 2003 08:56 PM

hi,

one of my friends wax's has bubbles on its back and its different than his other 2 which have smooth backs. I was thinking that its normal because the frog seems really healthy (gaining weight, growing, not showing any sort of problems). they are little bumps all over its back and I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is normal or what it is.

It is fine. 4 of my sauvagei have smooth back, the others have these little bumps. The bumps are actually smaller paratoid glands that secrete their waxy substace to prevent dehydration from the scorching Gran Chaco sun. Anymore questions, feel free to contact me or check out my web site, link in my signature.
