Still love the dragons

sandfireman Dec 01, 2003 09:53 PM

Hey all, whats up. I was recentley looking through some pictures of mine, and i came across a picture of my chinese water dragon, ( he has past away). I looked at it and thought real long about the fun i had when i had him. I was about 9 when i got him, i was pretty inexpereinced but i did my research and cared for him to the best of my abilities. He died when he was about 3 years old. Im pretty sure he got MBD. I feel terrible that i didnt try harder to care for him. Cureently i am 13 and own 3 snakes. Im think ing about selling my ball python and getting back into water dragons. This time im goin to build the dragon ( if i get one)a big cage to roam in and maybe put a female in there with him. I dont know if this is a good idea because i love all reptiles and am wondering if this is just some impulse buy that i want, i dont want it to be that. But sometimes snakes get boring and i want a water dragon because they have great personalities. I have the ability to house one, fed it and care for it with my own money (and maybe a little christmas money from the parentals, lol) Well anywayz, could anyone give me any input on this topic and maybe some ideas or pictures on building custom cages? Thanks a bunch, sorry for the long post, Chris

You've built up some experience. I've kept snakes myself. mine were hand caught. I kept these for a bit then turned themm loose again. Look at Tricia's sitw, Ming's site, and Melissa Kaplan's site. Make sure you get a healthy specimen.
