Wagler's Temple Pit Viper Help!

kevyn Dec 02, 2003 01:53 AM

Hey,
I've got a wagleri that I'm having a bit of a struggle with. I've read everything that I can on the subject and have found most of it quite helpful. However I've spoken with a keeper in Malaysia that tells me they should be quite thin and that if they look rather robust than they're over weight. Cool. However most of the ones I see on websites look round and robust along the small python lines. Mine is quite thin and is a very picky eater. Before I panic I'd like to talk with someone that has had more experience with these animals than I. I am used to keeping pythons which for the most part eat like pigs and are heavy bodied so I may just be paranoid. Thanks and any advice is welcomed.

Hi,

How old is yr wagler and how long is it? I've had 3, one is a baby, one sub adult and adult. Only the adult looks fat. I noticed that this is common in waglers. If yrs is still young, u shouldn't be worried.

She's probably just around 2ft. She looks fat but just dosen't feel fat. At times her spine is very evident and the bones in her head are very obvious also.
