Who am I?

Hi all!
My girlfriend got a new snake today. It's a real grouch, and will strike at anything that moves. It's also green, so it instantly got the name 'Oscar'.

Only problem is, we don't know what type it is. The person in the pet shop said it was probably some kind of Rat snake, but that's a lot of types of snake.

It would be great if you could tell me what type it is, so... thanks!

That is a Twin-spotted Ratsnake (Elaphe bimaculata), an Asian species.

Post this picture and question on the Ratsnake forum, where there are several people who breed bimaculata and they will be able to give you more info on them.

You said: "and will strike at anything that moves. It's also green,"

I don't see any green in there, but even if there is, it also has blotches of a different color. Without a picture, I would have guessed green tree python, emerald tree boa, or even a green mamba!

I don't know how many times I've asked what color a snake was and the response was either "green" or "black" and that was it.
