feeding veggies

dagangsta Dec 02, 2003 01:17 PM

ok, i just got a baby beardie a coupla days ago, and he just won't eat his greens i've tried collard greens, kale, and apples, so yea, i just read on this one site this....

"The number one best thing you can do for a juvenile or baby Beardie is to make them eat their veggies every day BEFORE you put in the live insects. When they are really hungry they will eat the greens and other veggies. If you should feed the insects first they will surely fill up on them and eat hardly any vegetable material. Actually many Dragons relish their greens. "

so yea, i tried feeding only greens and all one day, and he just wouldn't touch them, same with his pellets, i was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to get them to eat thier greens, and pellets, they are zoo-med juvenile pellets, also the pellets say that they are the first "soft moist formula" they don't feel very moist or soft, it syas not to soak them at all, should i just go ahead and soak them or not?

also hes been eating on average 15 small crix a day, then yesterday i looked in the tank and there was the big ball of like chewed up crickets, hes been pooping, so what could this mean, btw yea, hes about 7 inches head to tail i think, so yea, any help would be greatly appreciated. yea so sorry for all the questions, its just that i'm trying to do everything correctly

keep offering them daily but babies don't really eat greens well typically. mine just started 2 weeks ago and he is 6 months old. do give them the greens in the morning and then crix at least 2 hours before lights out so it has time to digest.
