Breeding Jungles

PKossak Dec 02, 2003 04:55 PM

I have been cycling my JCP's for 2-3 weeks now, and 2 days ago I put them together until today, when I seperated them again. However, I did not witness copulation. Is this any reason to get worried about them breeding this year or should I just keep on doing what I am doing. It's just kind of a bummer that everytime I walked into the room they were both on opposite sides of the cage, and neither one seemed interested. Any tips or suggestions? I really wanted to produce some baby JCP's this year! Thanks a lot,

Paul

It's really no big deal, keep introducing them and try after the female sheds, misting, during bad weather, etc.

together for a little bit longer. 2 days is not that long of a period. Also, I would look more at night time or early morning before dusk as that seems to be when they would be more active. It is very early in the breeding season so be patient and hope for the best. What were your cycling temps? I see you said you cycled for a few weeks but you did not specify the temperatures you used. Perhaps you could continue to cycle them for a bit longer if you don't feel they are ready yet. Just some ideas. Good Luck. Frank Kincade.
