Plastics..

mealworm Dec 02, 2003 05:30 PM

hey,

Im building a nice big cage for my water monitor.. shes about 2 feet but i'll probly build it to be 8x4 along the bottom. I use a durable plastic for some of my snake cages, but I dont know if it would be suitable for my monitor. I like the plastic because its easy to work with, light-weight, and looks pretty good. I'd really appreaciate any information about materials you'd recommend for monitors. Thanks!!

My two cents would be to use wood for the cage with a glass front. That being because plastic(acrylic) scratches very easily and monitors are very active with big claws! I don't know if polycarbonate is any more scratch resistant then acrylic, but it might be worth looking into. Those would be my two choices of material for building a monitor cage.
