color morph

I need help distinguishing the color of adult bearded dragons. What's the difference between citrus and pastel?!!? ember and flame?!?! sandfire and orange?!!? sigh -i'm gracious to those who's willing to help me distinguish the color morph difference.

i'm not an expert but, there is no explanation. people name what they want the name they want. some are more "standar" morphs, but it's still just a name to some extent. do some searching on the more reputable breeders sites and you will begin to see some pattern.

Most of the names you see are just that..names. There are 3 basic colors in dragons,red,orange and yellow. All of these colors phases have different names depending on the breeder. Pastel is a little different. Pastel is the name given to the original hypomelanistic animals. Hypomelanistic animals are a type of albino, they are missing or have a reduction in the dark colors (black/ brown).Although hypomelanistic means "having less than normal melanin" which leves room for much interpretaion, the name was originaly given to animals with such a reduction in melanin that they had clear claws instead of black claws.
