Light fixtures

sstorkel Dec 02, 2003 08:06 PM

Looking for a good source for fluorescent light fixtures for use inside cages. Here's the catch: I'd like to find something with an electronic ballast (the kind that doesn't hum) which doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Ideally, the fixture will also have a diffuser, so that cage occupants can't come in contact with the bulbs.

Anyone know of anything? Seems like the cheapest fixtures I could find were all in the $50-60 range, without bulbs, which is a bit much. Maybe it's possible to buy a cheap fixture and replace the electromagnetic ballast with an electronic one? Have to admit, I don't know much about this stuff...

Thanks for the help!

FosterSmith sells the water-resistant endcaps from10-$15 but that Coralife E-ballast doesnt look bad for $55.
