but I really need to get a hold of a camera and get it done. The hypos I have are a lot lighter then the normal ones I've come across and so far have only shown up in certain area "local" if you will, that's realatively close to where I live. My biggest male, a 6 footer, is cooling right now and will be bred to a normal greenish female that I've had a clutch from in the past, so I'll be able to determine whether it's a carrying gene or just a local variant that breeds across. I know it's not a certain clutch because I've found two, and both are very different age class. The smaller one hasn't been sexed male/female yet, but I'm leaning toward male just by looks and body weight.
I don't believe in the "labbed out" greenish's, that is,"I have a black rat and a yellow, I THINK I'LL BREED THEM!". I only breed out the natural strain, which means my stock come from WC original stock, which I'm not big on either, but I could never find anyone that could gaurantee that the greenish's that they had were the natural strain, so I never settled with any. I rescued some from death, and decided to hang onto them for breeders, and just only now have decided which ones I was really keeping for breeding, that's why I have a couple posted.
I'm also looking in the future of breeding some local variants in the watersnakes. Like if I can find another N. erythrogaster like "ears", which would have been awsome if I could have bred out a "hypo" or just high colored snake. Well, this whole thing was kinda scatterbrained, but hopefully I'll be getting some pictures soon and you can see what I'm talking about.
