It all depends on if you are using a false bottom or not. If you don't want to drill (I believe most 40 gallon aquariums use tempered glass for the bottom making this impossible) you will need some pea gravel, or tera light, a light lense, some fiberglass screen, a pump and clear tubing, and a LOT of imagination. OH yeah, and money, it seems to just keep getting more expensive, the further I get into this project! I had planned on not cutting any corners, and doing everything I wanted, and I don't even want to think how much I have invested! The only problem I have had so far is with UPS shipping my frogs.

Water features are really easy to make. All you need is a pump and a reservoir of some type. This could be a false bottom (which I personally prefer), a sump, or a gravel bottom with a margarine container for your pump. It's really quite easy. Check out audiotaylor's post above, or check out my pictures and captions in the photo gallery. I have a step-by-step tutorial on making a waterfall.

Drilling a tank is for the birds unless you are planning on having a bank of tanks used with a misting system. Just my humble opinion . . . because you're stuck with a tank with a hole in it for the rest of your natural life.
