My ig has these small brown even almost black microdots on its back and sides. He is still really young. Is this natural? They arent moving so I know they arent mites or anything. Any one experienced anything like it?

Look at them with a magnifying glass. Are they individual scales? If so, they are natural, and as he gets bigger, more will come in and give him his adult coloration.
If they are mites, take him to a vet.
