Jungle Surinam for sale... -more-

morelans Dec 03, 2003 08:33 AM

So.. if we have at least said that a Jungle has to be from the Sweden line of BCI.. then how is there now a Jungle Surinam? This is where the waters start to get muddy with the Jungle Label. Just a curiousity... not trying to call anyone out.

Now that is exactly what I thought the point of this thread was..
I would seriously consider not even looking at this guys ads anymore if he claimed to have a Jungle Surinam.

He did say 'your guess is as good as mine', but continues to say 'you could be the first... blah blah blah... taking offers'

If he thought for a minute it could be possible, he would keep it.

'taking offers' indicates to me that he is trying to make whatever he can...

just to poke fun, I would offer him about $150, since the pattern is completely irregular, no classic pattern, which takes away from the natural beauty of this animal...!
I think Gus and Herman would enjoy that, what do you think! lol
(no offense meant to the persons mentioned above..)

thanks guys

Eric clearly has many of the most outstanding Amarilli i've ever seen posted on the net, period.
I was poking fun at the general attitude being discussed in this 'Jungle' issue..

take care guys

Everyone that now has an aberrant boa now thinks they have made the quickest $1000 or more in their lives......The other problem is that everyone that wants or wanted jngles that has an aberrant boa now thinks that they can just call their animal what they want without even breeding the thing to see if it even at least produces more aberrant animals.....Now arises another problem...Even if there "Jungle" or "Junglish" boas do produce more aberrant jungles because there are still other prerequisites that must be filed in order for an animal to be a jungle, such as body and tail color.....One last point that I would like to make about Jungle boas that I am not sure if many people know or not.....Just because an animal is aberrant does not make it a Jungle...>There are Jungles from the Sweden line that just exhibit tail and body color without aberrances that are Jungles....So if people are going to "fix" or assigning labels and names to animals that are not the real thing they should first know what the requisites are for the "REAL" morph.

It cracks me up when people feel the need to label their animals as something they are not....Why not call you aberrant animal what it is...A nice aberrant boa....It would not take away from its beauty any less.....

I don't have a comment on the suriname, but I remember when I first moved to finland I was looking for snakes on the net, this is about 5 years ago. I ended up finding and email address and phone number from the jungle boa pair/group owner, all I found out it that the email and number were from sweden and get this, it was a student who owned them originally amd was mo longer at this particular college, and had sold them, and no one had any info about where this person was now.

Anyway, it would be nice if this person could find his/her way here, I think it might make things clearer for everyone.

good luck

steve

The founder of the "Jungle Boa" was Lars Brandel....He was not a student....I spoke to him about the jungles before Pete imported the back in 94 or 95'.......Just some info that I know of......

I have a BCI that could definitely be considered a 'Jungle' boa, but I would never call it that. It is just a really neat looking boa that I paid about $30 for. Is it genetic? I don't know, and really don't care. I will find out next season, but if it isn't it won't bother me. It is a pet, bottom line.
Take care,
Eric

I have read some of this but just can't bring myself to read it all....it would seem to me though that jungle is the type of morph and the sweden influence is the line....I think we all need to look over to the corns and see where they've gone with this. I think it's like species, subspecies and locality....the subspecies is the morph type and the locality is the line ie; jeff ronne, pete kahl, salmon, sweden....this is probably redundant but I personally don't see alot of grey area on this.
