Weldbond/Peat....anyone use it for waterfall/ water features?

andersonii85 Dec 03, 2003 09:38 AM

Lately there's been a lot of discussion on this method for creating backgrounds, but has anyone actually used it to make anything else? I was thinking about trying it out for a waterfall with a stream connected; however, I didn't want to start this if someone else has tried it and it didn't work. Any other materials that can be used to mold for a waterfall? Plaster paris?

Thanks for any input.

The mixture won't work to make solid forms (if that makes sense). However, as a coating over foam, it will stand up to a constant water feature (we have four seperate features going over it in our 90 gallon).

We incorporated lace rock and ghost wood into the foam background by "foaming it in" to make small streams/waterfalls. I really wish I had pictures, but I am waiting for the tank to grow in a bit more before I show it off. Let me know if you have any questions. We spent a good two months or more working on this project

Dave,

Hey thanks for the advice. I forgot about the foam part. Anyway, it sounds like you got an awesome tank going there and can't wait to see those pictures!

Thanks again
