*refrigerate if you want to slow down their growth
--be sure to take a few out 24 hrs prior to feeding for gutloading
*no refrigeration if you want them to morph into beetles faster
i don't refrigerate because i'm trying to breed mealworms for my leo... i had too many, so she ate some of the aliens last night
depends on your preference i guess - but if you're doing a poll, i say no refrigeration.

I say no refridgeration too because you can gutload them, and make em fatter too
Also, you dont have to wait for them to warm up to feed them, since most geckos wont eat unless the prey is moving.

ahhh i have to start refrigerating some of mine...
i started off with 300 mealworms. i wanted to breed them to have my own mealworms so i dont have to buy them at the store. i was thinking - maybe 20 beetles will be good since females can lay an average of 500 eggs. but now i have 4 beetles and 92 aliens (not counting the ones that may have morphed this morning).
i fed my leo about 15 mealworms per night. she started brumation and i don't know how to get her out of it. if she wants to eat, she'll have 1 or 2 mealworms, or 2 aliens. other than that, she'll just be sleeping. so now all these mealworms are pupating and i need to slow it down!
so into the fridge they go!
hehe

I keep enough mealworms to last a few days out of the fridge. The rest get fresh substrate and are out for a few hours every 2 weeks to have carrots/other veggies. Remove the vegies before they go back in the refrigerator.
This has been working very well for me.
