baby food???

blackheart17 Dec 03, 2003 01:21 PM

i haven't been able to get my dragon to eat his veggies... is it okay if i give him some baby food veggies if he'll eat that? it has no added sugar and must be pretty heath (if they feed it to humans)... is it heathy enough for him to eat? also a quick question- how often should i drop water on his face to get him to drink???

I've never fed baby food but know that others have and it is a good alternative. As for the water, I mist my dragons every morning and in the evenings put them in the tub or sink for a swim with the water levels about shoulder deep. If they are thirsty they'll drink! The misting is usually when mine drink most. Make sure you mist they're body and get some on the side of the enclosure as they like to lap it off the glass as well as off they're nose and climbing things.

I use baby food on top of fresh greens to get my bearded dragons to start eating their greens. I don't know about just feeding straight baby food though.

I actually didn't use babyfood to feed veggies. I used chicken and gravy fed thru a syringe to stimulate appetite, which in turn caused him to eat his greens.

How old is your beardie? Maybe he/she is too young to like greens. Mine didn't eat them until a couple of weeks ago and he is just about 7 months old. Now he is a pig. We just offered them every day since we got him 5 months ago until he ate them.
