Shedding

I think Slytherin is trying to shed. She has little pieces of loose skin here and there. Should I soak her in the tub, and for how long? What temp.?

What type of skink is she? My BTS just sheds on his own, leaving scales all over the place! No extra help necessary.

She is an Indonesian BTS. Iguess they don't shed big pieces of skin,or all at once, I don't know. The larger scales on her head are shedding, very little on her back and some around her toes.

Hi, Barbara:
As I don't get tired of pointing out, natural is always best. So, why don't you just provide a moist -- not wet -- corner in the enclosure, maybe a separate hide, and the shedding will happen naturally. Sometimes whole sections will come off, sometimes individual scales.
There may be extraordinary situations in which soaking may be helpful or even necessary, i.e., when there is rings of skin around toes. Generally, though, shedding is an uneventful, if messy, normal part of Slytherin's life and it will happen rather regularly now that it's young and growing.

Hi Edward.I sprayed the cage with water because it was dry and I sprayed Slytherin a little bit and she immediately started to pull peices of dead skin off. She is ok now. Thank you for your help.
