soaking a Mali

aligoonbaba Dec 03, 2003 02:13 PM

My Mali Rocco has had some trouble shedding on his head and body. Theres a break off point at his neck that indicates a tight lair of skin on his body. I can't get it off though. I tried soaking him once, didnt work. I've been using vitamin spray, no luck there. Is there a better way to soak them without holding there bodies under water. I also hear gatorade works well. Rocco likes to float on top of the water, so it doesnt soak his back. any help would be great! he's been like this for several months. thanks.

I would try rubbing some mineral oil on the spot. I'm new to uros, but mineral oil has always worked for my water dragon.

Arthur has been working on shedding since August. She finally has started actually losing skin off her neck and shoulders. I try to give her a soak once a week for about 10 minutes. I only use a little bit of water (1/2 inch) and just sort of trickle it over her back and neck with my fingers. She freaks out in deeper water, and I don't want to risk her getting water in her lungs accidentally. The vet also gave me a nolvasan spray solution that seems to condition the skin a little. The first time I used it on her back, she sloughed a bunch of skin within two days.
