See my response below from yesterday. You will probably have to use an airline carrier.

Well this is a touchy subject. The only companies that openly accept snakes is the airline, but it is expensive.

Depending on who you talk to all door to door carriers will tell you know, but that is not totally true.

USPS does not take snakes at all

UPS does take live harmless reptiles, but not snakes. I have recieved and sent via them many times with no problem as long as the box is labled "live harmless reptiles"

Fedex does not so to ship through them you can't label the box, which can get you in trouble if you get caught.

Airbone does not know what they do sometime they will take it sometimes they won't

I have found the easiest way to ship with a door to door carrier is to set up your own account online, print out your own lables, and drop the box off at a drop off office. This prevents them from asking questions. The leave you alone, because it looks like you ship alot and they usually do not question a regualar customer.

good luck

i am having the same problem, although, not being a breeder or seller it seems almost worse. here is my situation: i moved from baltimore to san fransisco in march. none of the airlines would let me take my two constrictors as carry on, at the time it didnt occur to me that people ship snakes. i am now back in baltimore for the holidays and determined to ship my snakes home to me, i miss them so much. i have been through the same rigamarole as everyone else, calling airlines, frieght forwarders, ups, etc all to get nowhere. a nice woman at the east bay vivarium suggested that i find a breeder or store in baltimore who is a regular snake shipper and has an account that will help me out, 'take my case' so to speak. so is there anyone out there in maryland that will help me? i am pretty poor but this is very important to me, and i want to hear prices from anyone that may be willing to help me. thanks so much, please email me, or if you know anyone in md who may be interested please pass this plea along.
