Females together

svt-sinister Dec 03, 2003 05:09 PM

I know people said you cant put dragons together but the guy a bought my baby dragon from breeds them in him house and i saw his setup. He has 4 adult females together in the same cage. How does he do that? I wanna have 2 dragons in the same cage as well but i tried that once with juvi's and they fought. They were females.

It all depends on the individual female dragons personalities. Some get along some don't. I try to keep my females in pairs of two and so far two groups have been together without any problems. I never just put them together the first day though. I always eased them into living with each other. I give them time out together in the room, and let them interact together for a while before I go ahead and put them in the same enclosure. With the last pair I put together I kept them in a large enclosure with plexi glass dividing it. They lived like this for about a month before I took down the divider and observed them together to make sure they were comfortable with being together. This way worked out great. Some females get along, and some don't, but in my opinion male and female pairs (the exception hatchlings) should not be housed together for any length of time unless they are of age and health to breed. I would never house a pair together that showed any sings of aggression towards each other.
