Hey Alex, congrats!Yea I'm sure. He's sleeping off the jetlag, lol. You're going to have alot of fun with this guy. Wait till he wakes up.

My trio is doing good, thanks. Theyre growing fast. I'm using dirt from my backyard mixed with compost and a little peat moss. We'll see how that mix works out.
It couldn't hurt to leave him alone for awhile until he gets acclimated. You'll have to see for yourself when hes ready to be handled. I still dont handle mine . Although 2 of them seem perfectly comfortable with me sticking my hands in and changing their water or feeding them. The other guy goes straight down his burrow if sees me approaching.Email me some time, we'll talk some more. Good luck!

I think you and I got monitors from the same place(brrr). Mine came and I was shocked at how small it was, but only because it made me realize how fast my other argus cross has grown. Only about a month older and it is at least twice the size and weight.
I was going to try and house them together to see how it might work out, but when It came time to put it in the cage I took one look at my other monitor and it was ready to try and eat anything that came out of my hand.

hi alex, i have used this before, and to tell you the truth it didn't work that great.

do a local surch with nurseries about sandy loam, gold fines or decomposed granite (the last is very hard to find and very expensive if you do). perhaps even a loam and sand mix would work well, much better than the peat for sure.
