I need helpful info on warming up a half frozen snake...more.

Hello

I received a snake in today and it was shipped without a heatpack and set for evening delivery. I opened the bag and removed the animal and it appeared to be dead. I started to warm him up slowly and he started moving..He is up to about room temp currently and still has a head wobble, and his throat is puffed out like a snake with RI.

I wanted to know what techniques do any of you know for warming up and also to make sure he is okay over the next few days.

I seem to have "saved" him for now, but I don't want to do anything that might hurt him in the next few days.. And yes I know not to feed him (that is common sense for any just received animals, cold or otherwise)

Thanks in advance for any help I get.

You are doing it right by warming him up slowly. All you can really do is maintain the warm temps and increase humidity to help with the respitory problem. The best choice would be to contact who you bought it from. If it was packed properly it would not have came in that cold. And it would not get a respitory infection over night.

He is acting like a "normal" animal, so as long as he doesn't up and die on me in the next few days I think he will be fine.

here is the first pic of him..

and here is a few hours later
