HELP PLEASE

DemonBloodMage Dec 03, 2003 07:49 PM

Hello

I have had my red tegu for about 6 months, and he has had some shed problems with his tail. I wanna know how can i hold the humidity better? Is there a substrate that holds it good? ( I tried vermiculate but it got dry too quick and kind got him dirty like and dried out his skin.) His skin is fine now, but i want advice on humidity.

Thanks

Try Cypress mulch...

i had the same problem, i was spraying his enclosure like 5 or more times a day just to keep it humid (with cypris mulch). i found out that if you seal most of the top of their enclosure (leave a little so he doesnt suffocate) it keeps a lot of moisture. at the most ill have to spray once a day. also if you have a basking spot try putting like a water bowl or something to evaporate the water (more humid) also the higher the temp the more humid too. well i hope i helped you out a little. good luck, justin
