HI EVERYBODY, I JUST BOUGHT A WHITES TREE FROG A WHILE BACK, I BOUGHT HIM AS NOT QUITE A BABY BUT NOT YET AN ADULT. I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SEVERAL WEEKS TO SEE ANY SIGHNS THAT WOULD IDENTIFY WHAT SEX IT WAS AND JUST ABOUT TEN MINUTES AGO HE STARTED CROAKING AND MAKING CALLS. THIS MADE ME VERY HAPPY. IVE BEEN DOING RESEARCH AND HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT BUYING A FEMALE AND BREEDING HIM, IM SURE ALOT OF YOU HAVE REASONS WHY I SHOULDNT BREED THEM SO PLEASE TELL ME THEM. ANOTHER THING IS COULD SOMEONE PLEESE TELL ME HOW OLD WHITES ARE BEFORE THEY START GETTING ALL FAT LOOKING I CANT WATE TILL HE LOOKS LIKE BUHDDA. PLEASE REPLY.
breeding frogs is great, it increases the numbers of captive bred frogs in the pet trade. if you are interested in breeding you will need more than 2 WTF's. as for the specs on how to conditiom them for breeding check my site.
when whites are young all the food you feed them will go into overall growth, once the frrog reaches sexually maturatity the frogs growth will decrease and the food you feed it may make the frog fatter. i dont know what your definition of a fat looking WTF is but if it is 'fat' it is not healthy, and will deplete the overall life expectency of your frog. the best way to tell if your frog is getting overweight is by looking at the supra tympanic ridge(bulge above tympanum), if it begins sagging a little bit over half way of the frog tymapnic membrane then it is getting fat.
