housing chameleons together

burnham Dec 03, 2003 11:09 PM

I was watching a reptile show on T.V. and they said that you could house males of different species together as long as they are from different parts of the world because they will not recognize each other. My first reaction was BS but you never know. Is this true or just some more garbage info from a useless source?

Different parts of the world means different care requirements.
It makes you wonder what peoeple are thinking, or not thinking.

I wouldn't house different species of chameleons together, ever.
Like it was said in the previous post, different care requirements...some like it hot some like it cold. Also, if you put a leaf tailed, male or not, any other chameleons species is going to eat it for breakfast. Not a smart idea at all. Most people totally disagree with the housing of same chameleon species let alone completely different ones.

That is some of the finest garbage I've heard lately. I really hate self styled animals experts who get themselves on TV spouting a bunch of nonsense. I hate to think of the potential cham owners who will like hearing this. We may see a spate of "housing chams together" stress as a result.
