Hello jayskees:
The runny stools points strongly towards either bacterial infection or protozoal infection, such as flagellates or amoeba. Either way getting a fresh stool to the vet is difficult. Best to bring the snake to a herp vet and get a cloacal swabbing done and then quickly examine under the scope. Bacterial culture can be done but rarely changes treatment. I would Flagyl the snake at 50mg/kg that day and then depending on the condition of the snake either rehydrate or if it's already looking well-hydrated consider antibiotic treatment. Depending on the history of the snake (captive-born, wild-caught and spent time at importer) I'd also Panacur twice at 2 week interval. Environmental stress is not the cause of runny stools but it doesn't help matters.
Getting a fresh runny stool to the vet in a timely fashion is difficult due to degredation of the sample.
