just got a granite burmese

im guessing she is just scared but if i go two feet within the cage she starts hissing and snapping at the cage. i have a ball python,and a red tailed boa, and have nver seen this with them. i did just get her yesterday. I am just trying to seee if this is normal when they are new to the enviroment, i just want a 20' snake with a attitude. thank you

In my experience with burms almost all baby/juvenile burms are somewhat snappy. Almost always they calm down nicely and become woncerfull pets. Occassionally, they can be agressive but I believe all burms can become quite docile with a gentle approach and proper handling techniques. As for the hissing, get used to it. I have had numorous burms that never stop hissing. Some do some don't but it is usually nothing to be concerned about. Anyway, good luck with your new burm, Todd
