Nose rubbing

srsnakes Dec 04, 2003 11:23 AM

Alright so since we have introduced our female with our albino boa he has been nose rubbing in his "non breeding time". We are treating it with neosporin and i was just wondering if there is something that we can do to incourage him to not rub other than just treating the rub spots? any help? thanks!

Sincerely,

How big is the male and how big is the female? I ask because maybe he is intimidated by the female and wants out. Other reason could be that he just has no interest in the female and he is not ready. On the other hand maybe she is not ready and she is giving him the signs, but he cannot go anywhere.
Have you noticed him doing this before? If not, I would think it has something to do with timing and/or being with the female period.
Just a thought!

Well I understand about him wanting out but he consistantly does this if theres a female in or not. He is always up against the glass. The temps are fine and he has a hide too. None of the other snakes do it except him. Just wanted to know if there was anything I could do.

Thanks
Steve
