Pic of BRB in Hide

MonkeyLove Dec 04, 2003 11:39 AM

I snapped this pic this morning.

It shows the side of my female through the opening of the hide.

I was wondering if she looks obese...the white showing between scales makes me wonder. She doesn't seem overly fat to me when she out roaming or when I'm handling her.

I usually only feed her one small F/T rat once a week, but sometimes twice. She is 5.5' so I don't think this is too much to feed her. I think the white is showing because she's coiled up in the hide. I'm curious what you all think. Thanks.

Bryan,
. You are probably right that it is just showing white between the scales because of the way it is coiled inside the hiding spot. If you can measure and weigh it we can give you a very good guess on whether it is too fat, too thin ot just right.
How long have you had the dart frogs? What sort of housing and feeding do you use with them?
TIA,
Jeff

Jeff,

I sent you an email about the dart frogs.

As for my female BRB...she is 5.5' long and last Wednesday, before I fed her, she weighed 1230 grams. Does that sound about right? Thanks.

Bryan,
. Most of mine weighed that weight just as they were passing 5 feet in length. My 5.5 footers weigh 1600 to 2000 grams. I prolly keep mine a little heavier than ideal trying to breed them. Thanks for the Dart Frog info.
