Russian tortoise skin getting darker...

copyleftpenguin Dec 04, 2003 11:39 AM

Hey, how's it going? I've had my blonde russian tortoise for 6 months and when I got her, her skin was very light (seems typical of blonde colored russian torts). Well, my girlfriend and myself have noticed her scales are getting much darker. What would cause this?

Perhaps it is due to the lack of UVB. I have noticed that if I give my tortoises more sun, they turn lighter in color but mostly the difference is in the carapace tho.
