Burmse Brown Tortoise help

dannygood1 Dec 04, 2003 12:18 PM

Anybody have suggestions for increasing appetite of Burmese Browns? I have 2 (wildcaught) about 6" and they eat very poorly. I keep them from 60F-85F, mostly outdoors except when too cool or hot, I keep them wet/moist; have pool to soak in.
Thanks.

The "CATCH WORD" here is: "WILD CAUGHT". I'll bet they still
are holding mass parasites? My Burmese Mtn. Blacks will eat
ANYTHING, now that they're cleaned up. That's where i'd start,
get another fecal examine at your vet. Honestly, mine will
devour a WHOLE ear of corn: Green leaf matter, silk, corn & the
cob, too!! After you medicate them, give them a regime of
"NUTRI-BAC". This will put "GOOD" bacteria into their systems.

Yes, I've been thinking about getting them to a vet for de-worming. Maybe that's the main cause. Thanks.
