I can't say for sure, but my first guess would be too small of a water bowl.

I NEED A LARGER WATER BOWL. I WOULD LIKE TO SOAK, PLEASE!!!

Girlfriend: Your room smells like reptiles!
Me: Are you saying that my Balls smell?

Actually to me it looks like typical cold seeking behavior that you often will see on females this time of year before they ovulate. Wrapping around the bowl like that is pretty usual, I've often wondered if thats a female ball pythons reaction to 'gettin the cramps'

SHe was bred just 3 weeks ago, is it possible to ovulate so soon?

MarkS Dec 04, 2003 06:14 PM

Could still be weeks before actual ovulation. Shes just working up to it. Keep putting your male in with her 3 or 4 days every week. Check her every day and when she does ovulate, you'll know it. It's just another one of the signs along the way that hopefully winds up in hatchling snakes.

Oh and BTW: Your water bowl is just fine, I've been using that type for years.

probably just building follicles or she is just trying to get cool. Some of my females do this at this time of year (breeding season)....seems to me like they are just doing what feels best.
I consider it a good sign of things to come!
Good luck.
