I will assume you mean HIBERNATE. If so, put them in garage at 55/60, wait 3 months, then warm again. They should do fine. Also next time use spell check and periods in sentences/jon

An added bonus to hibernating your animals is that it gives you more free time to finish that pesky schoolwork!

I believe the correct word for reptiles is BRUMATE, not hibernate...or hobornate...

wow you told that scrabble head, jon101 needs to not worry as much about spelling as he does on his probing technique of copper heads.

>>I believe the correct word for reptiles is BRUMATE, not hibernate...or hobornate...

Thanks for pointing that out. "Brumate" is the most correct terminology, though through the "dumbing down" of most things herpetocultural, for practical purposes they've become interchangeable.

It pains those of us pedantic enough to correct people with phrases like "it's PREVENTIVE, not preventative," although "preventative" through common (mis)usage is now acceptable too.

Yes, without preventive measures, syntax, semantics and grammar will continue to be a challenge.

People will use their own terminology, irregardless (couldn't resist)LOL!

It'll be a sad day when "axe" becomes an acceptable synonym for "ask."

I agree. Sadly, I fear that day is closing in. Cheers!!

I teach college biology classes and my students frequently turn in assignments with the word "nite" and other such widely "accepted" mispellings.

Even more frightening is the frequency with which I see forum/chatroom spellings like ur (you are) and internet abbreviations like BTW in formal written assignments.

I think the last time I saw you, your son was a baby and LaDuc was a shy undergrad dating some girl named Wendy. Circa 1989?

I will send an email later when I get home.

I think it's mainly pronounced wrong and not necessarily spelled wrong.

Well you poor sap I guess you will know better than to ask a question on this forum again. I guess all of the real herpers are "BROMANATING" their herps now and have nothing better to do than sit around checking spelling on those of us so uneducated. Sounds like what you did worked so for lack of better info I think I would do it again. They don't seem to remember what it was like when they didn't know everything.?.
