the next person to ask about housing beardies together within 10 threads of another person asking the same thing dies!

proud mama to:
1.0.0 ball python (mr snake),0.0.1 albino florida kingsnake (CK),1.1.0 leopard gecko (sebastian and vilma),0.1.0 colombian rainbow boa (luce),1.1.1 bearded dragon (kaipo, dulce, and kellen), 1.1.0 colombian redtailed boas (adam and eve)
We should just type out the answers and save them. Then post it as needed.
That'd get pretty boring though.

Unfortunately, this is why a lot of the more experienced herpers and breeders stop answering questions. The same thing is going on in the leo forum. I think it was last week that a similar discussion got started over there.
To sum it all up:
1)Breeders and experienced herpers offer advice and input.
2)Newbies and know-it-alls question their methods and call them ignorant even though a breeder justifies his response with something like 'and these methods have worked for me for the past 5/1015/20 years of breeding'. (This seems to be the case when it comes to issues like: substrate, mealworms vs. crickets, UTH vs. heat lamps, etc.)
3)Experienced people get fed up and stop posting.
4)Same newbies who refused advice and went their own misguided way begin offering advice to next 'generation' of newbies.
5)Continuous stream of new people entering the forum asking the same questions without first reading through the old threads where the answers usually already exist further alienates brain-trust. ie. 'I'm thinking about a Bearded Dragon, what do I need to know?', 'If I house a male and female leo together, will they breed?', etc.
Like someone said earlier, it's the nature of the forum beast. A little browsing through the 5 or 6 pages of threads would save repetition and headache. Although these same people could save even more time by typing 'Bearded Dragon Caresheet' in google...sigh...I'm done ranting.
Note: there are good questions. Forums are a good place for new people to learn about their pets, especially before they buy them. It's also a good place to discuss health issues and whatever else might come up. 'Newbies' should NEVER be afraid to ask a question. I'm only saying that it's prudent to flip through the forum before you ask a question that was asked yesterday and its answer is still on the page in front of you.
Just imagine how frustrating this must be in smaller forums like the frilled dragon where there are usually only a couple posts a day. Some of the smaller forums actually get the same questions right 'ontop' of each other.
To lighten the mood, here's a pic of my leo. I'm considering a beardie, but don't have any pics, so this is all I can offer to lighten the mood. hehe
Cheers

So when you are looking for an older post that you remember seeing, you have to open everything until you find it or ask the question again.
I also noticed that since this board moves so fast, a question sometimes doesn't get answered completely (additional questions added to the orginal) before it's moved on so it has to be addressed again.
That's just some of the posts, though
