I have noticed 2 or 3 mites on my hatchling corn and so want to begin treatment now (I'd prefer avoiding the use of pesticides and go with the soak and cage/accessory disinfection approach) but I am hesitant for two reasons: 1) The snake has cloudy eyes and is about to shed. I heard that their skin is fragile in this state and they shouldn't be handled much (?) 2) I've only had the snake for under a week (about 4 days) and am concerned about stressing it too much so early on.

Would it be okay to treat the snake now or should I wait until it has settled in more and has shed? I've dealt with a large outbreak of rodent mites before but this is my first run-in with reptile parasites of any sort!
